Ed Gallagher Dec. 11, 1907 - Sept. 5, 2004
This poem was written for Ed Gallagher, a good friend and neighbour on the day his wife called me to let me know that he was in the hospital and wasn’t expected to live. I was asked by the family to read this at the gathering after the funeral service and copies were given to all his family members.

Jan Carlzon Makes an Impression!
Back in 1986 I was working for a company that Nokia N82 repaired jet engines for the airline industry.

One day I heard this quotation that really made me stop and think about first impressions and the way that we handle our customers.
“Coffee stains on the flip tray suggest to the customer that we do not service our engines properly.”
The quotation came from Jan Carlzon who was a past president of Scandinavian Airlines and had rescued that company from financial collapse through his focus on customer service.
Jan wrote a little book called “Moments of Truth” in which he described his customer service philosophy. This little book was read by thousands of people around the world and became a foundation for customer service delivery.

More Beds Than You Can Imagine

Could This Be The Time To Get Into Emerging Markets?

Dealing with Difficult People: 27 Secrets & Strategies You Can Apply Today

1.Listen more effectively. Listening is the number one tool in communication, especially when dealing with difficult people.
2.Step back and analyze the situation from an outside perspective. When we are less emotionally involved and “cool our jets,” the answers come for how to effectively deal with them. Whether dealing with a difficult boss, dealing with a difficult co-worker, or spouse.
